Barbara Mayo

Barbara Jane Mayo was born December 29, 1953 to Albert Livesay and Opal Presson in Andrews, TX. She passed away October 28, 2016 in Hobbs. She was the oldest of three daughters. She met Butch Mayo and married him when she was 16 years old on May 1, 1970. Then they moved to Odessa, Texas in 1973. They had their first son Brad in 1975 followed by another son Jeff in 1978. Her and her family moved to Hobbs, NM in 1980. Barbara continued her education in nursing in 1993. She was a RN for 17 years which helped support their children on missions for their church. Barbara has been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 1978.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Albert Livesay; step-father Charley Porter and three grandchildren, sister; Peggy Snell, brother-in-law, Johnny Hays, Tillman Mayo, V.J. Mayo and Tony Hensley; sister-in-law, Marilon Avery; and nephew Daniel Snell.

She is survived by her husband, Butch Mayo and son, Brad Mayo and daughter-in-law, Rebecca Mayo and son, Jeff Mayo, grandchildren; Seth, Manna, Brayden, Kade, Zaelyn and Grayson; mother, Opal Porter, stepmother; Mary Livesay, sister; Elizabeth Hays, half-sister; Sheri Gray, step-siblings, Lester Ferrell, David Bryan, Mike Bryan, Janette Speake and Jack Kennedy and several nieces and nephews.
