Barbara Hill

Barbara Hill, 77, of Hobbs passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at her home. Barbara was born August 10, 1937 in Graham, Texas to Grady and Ruby Hobbs.

Barbara loved to cook for her friends and family. She enjoyed bowling and sewing. When she was asked her greatest memory she knew it was meeting Cotton Wood, at the bowling alley, he was the love of her life She also had many memories of her 21 day trip on a Naval Ship to Japan where she lived for 2 years. Barbara loved to make Hot Fudge Cake she also loved to eat it This was her alltime favorite food.

Barbara loved her children Sherry, Jimmy, Bubba and Larry, they were her life, not a day went by she didnt think of them and talk about them, she hope above all else they each knew this.

Barbara is survived by her sons Jimmy Short and wife Jennifer of Katy, TX, William Bubba Wood and wife Jana and Larry Wood and wife Sandy of Hobbs and daughter, Sherry Weir and husband Arnold of Cooper City, FL., and her cousin Francis Jones of Olney, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren Ryan Short, Daniel Swatosh Godyck Mila Mirko John Jones, David, Jessica, Triston Leium Wood Lauren Camden Wood Chelse, DJ, Madison Jaden Taylor Brian, Aarika Grant Flowers Eric Wood Tiffany Wood and Meagen Wood.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Cotton Wood, Jimmy Short Sr. and Jimmy Hill, her father and mother Grady and Ruby Hobbs.

Chapel of Hope Funeral Home of Hobbs is in charge of arrangements. Services for Barbara will be at Fellowship of Believers, Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Mike Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made at St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
