Jan Hemken went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in Lubbock TX. Jan was born on September 8, 1946, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to Claude and Mable Bridges. She was the oldest of 4 children, and attended school in Eunice, New Mexico.
She married Archie Hemken on December 13, 1962, in Andrews, TX. Jan was an instructor at Lea County Beauty College in Hobbs for several years and then worked at The Hair Connection on north Linam for over 20 years. She loved flowers and always had a beautiful yard. Jan was a member of the Hobbs Rose Club for many years. Jan enjoyed going to their cabin in Ruidoso and traveling on family vacations. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hobbs before she and Archie moved to Lubbock to be closer to their only granddaughter, Sunni Corral.
She is survived by her husband, Archie Hemken of Lubbock, TX and their daughter Debbie Hemken of Midland, Texas. They have one granddaughter, Sunni Corral and husband Roger Corral of Lubbock, TX. Jan is also survived by her two sisters, Alice Stine and husband Gary, Peggy Irvin and husband Weldon, and one brother Chad Bridges.
