Audrey (Dale) Brown, 80, was granted his angel's wings Wednesday February 25, 2015 after a long battle with COPD and CHF. His final hours were spent with his wife and daughter with calls to family members.
Dale was born June 26, 1934 in Lubbock TX and graduated from Lubbock Senior High, his father was a sharecropper and mother, now 99 years old, was a LVN for many years. Dale attended one-year at TTU where he met his life-long friend Larry Cook. Accepting to be best man at his friend's wedding he met his future wife of more than 60 years, Lynnda Cook. They were married in 1954 when Dale started working for Thomas Brothers in Lubbock as a duster. On his first day of work, he sold a typewriter and from then on became a salesman. In 1964 he moved to Hobbs with wife and 3 children to become co-owner of the Paper Clip with Bill and Pat Johnson. He later opened Copies Inc. and the Office Mart, then retired in 1997.
Dale was big as life and self-taught in many aspects. He was persistent to know how things worked and was diligent to learn the "how to of things". Dale was president of Lea Lions Club in which he helped design Triangle Park in Hobbs. He was a pilot and love to dab in technology and electronics. He was a great story teller and he love to help the less fortunate, but his biggest passion was music. Dale was self-taught on the organ in which he was alternate organist for FBC for many years.

Dale is survived by his loving mother Shirley Brown, wife; Lynnda Brown, son; David Brown all of Hobbs, daughter; Kathy Colunga of San Angelo, grandson; Michael Lopez of San Antonio, grandson; Nicholous Lopez of Baltimore MD, granddaughter; Ashley Strife Brown of Lubbock, and grandson; Zack Brown of Santa Fe and 5 great grandchildren, his three dogs; Frank, Baby and Jr and one cat; Callie. He is preceded in death by his father and his son Joe Brown.
