Funeral services for Ashley Rene McCasland, 22, will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2011, at St. Helena Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating assisted by Pastor Eileen Utten. Interment will be after services at Brunson Memorial Cemetery in Eunice. Visitation will be 10 a.m. 8 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011, with a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Rene died January 15, 2011, in Ruidoso, New Mexico. She was born February 9, 1988, in Hobbs, To Robert McCasland and Brenda Franco.
Rene was a Eunice High School cheerleader and was a graduate there in 2006. She attended Maciolek School of Dance, was a member of High Plains Jr. Rodeo Association, Lea County Jr. Rodeo Association and a member of the en Point School of Dance competition team in Roswell. She was a baptized member of First United Methodist Church in Eunice and made her first communion in the Catholic Church. She loved horses and horse racing, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shopping loved traveling, listening to music, surfing and being outside in the sun she loved cooking and gardening and she loved her brother Ryan Seay now they will be watching us from heaven. She also loved her niece and nephew, Brianna Armendariz and Carlos Robert Armendariz, Jr. and her granddaddy and grandmama. She was a strong willed young woman and very adventurous. There was never a dull moment. She tried to bring a smile to everyones face.
She is survived by her mother, Brenda Lynn Franco of Midland, TX her father Robert Austin McCasland and wife Regina of Eunice, NM sister, Ginger Chantel Armendarez and husband Carlos of El Paso, TX sister, Laura Ellen McCasland of Eunice many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends as well as her grandparents, Joe and Amila Franco of Midland.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dallas and Irene McCasland.
