Anthony Tony Lawrence Yarbrough, 15, of Hobbs, went to be with his Lord and Savior and his Papa Tony on Thursday, January 20, 2011, in Albuquerque, NM.
Tony was born on February 16, 1995, in Hobbs, NM, to Bobby and Sara Yarbrough. Tony was an avid football fan, especially when it came to the Sooners and the Patriots. He was a member of Cowboy Junction Church and served in Crossroads Youth Ministry. Tony enjoyed spending time with his Dad, whether they were just going to have breakfast, cooking for the family or killing a goat. They spent lots of time together raising pigs, rabbits, and goats for Tony to show for 4H. He was a pervious member of Monument 4H and a more recent member of Top Hand 4H. Tony had a love for shooting guns, whether it was airsoft guns with Tanner or real guns with Eric. He also loved playing video games with his cousins, Bryce, Cutter and Jake. He loved hanging out, going for rides and listening to music with Justin and JR, they were his boys. Tony liked to boss everyone around, especially Shelby. Tony thought Dana Sasser was the hottest girl he had ever seen. He attended Camp Crossfire every summer where he showed off his goat roping skills, his musical talent and participated in the drama skit. Tony loved his dogs, his former dog Rusty and his current dog Brownie.
Tony is survived by his parents, Bobby and Sara Yarbrough sisters, Emily Yarbrough, his twin, and Victoria Yarbrough all of Hobbs brother, Billy Galindo of New Braunfels, TX sister, Marie Tucker and husband Sterling of New Braufels, TX his Nanny, Judy Heard of Hobbs Meme, Joanne Etheridge of Hobbs and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tony was preceded in death by his greatgrandparents, Bill and Selma Goddard and Maria Galindo his grandpa, Tony Heard and grandmother Mary Chacon his great aunt, Billie Torres his great uncles, Fred, Manuel and Jesus Galindo, and his poppy, Dean Etheridge.
Services will be Thursday, January 27 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Pastors Ty Bean and Cigi Hardin officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 8 a.m. 5 p.m., Wednesday, 8 a.m. 6 p.m. with the family in attendance from 4 6 p.m., and Thursday 8 8:30 a.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home. The family has requested that everyone wear football attire to the service, as that is what Tony would have wanted.
