Alvas Griffin, 72, was born December 21, 1943 in Hobbs, NM to Thomas and Lillian Bryant. She passed away December 21, 2015 in Hobbs, NM.

She married Floyd A. Griffin on June 22, 1965 in Hobbs. Floyd and Alvas had 50 great years together. Her life was dedicated to her children and family. Many of her years were spent babysitting numerous children and working in the nursery at her church. Alvas was strong in her faith and believed in giving back to her church. She graduated from Hobbs High School in 1962

She is survived by her sons Terry and wife Kelly and Kevin and wife Lorrie of Hobbs and Damon of Lamesa, TX, daughter; Tammy and husband Gary Hartman of Hobbs, brother John Bryant of Hobbs, her sisters; Mary Baugh and Barbara Martin of Illinois, grand-daughters; Ashley Griffin and Kelsey Caskey (Kyle) both of Hobbs, grandsons; Josh Griffin of Lubbock, TX, Tanner Griffin, Kaleb Hartman, Kyler Hartman, Kody Griffin, Keaton Hartman, Kaiden Hartman and Karson Hartman all of Hobbs and great-granddaughter, Kinley Griffin and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters; Joan Wilson, Janice Bible and Janet Holder and one brother; Harold Don Bryant.
