Memorial services for Alton Al Goodwin, 83, of Hobbs, will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2011, at Chapel of Hope. Al died October 13, 2011, at his home. He was born October 20, 1927, in Childress, Texas, to Alton and Velma Goodwin. He married Altha Tinx Edwards June 24, 1950, in Channing, Texas.
During WWII, he served his country in the Navy. He received his accounting degree at West Texas State University. The family moved to Hobbs in 1957 where he worked 36 years for Watson Truck Supply until his retirement in 1993. Al was a Mason, a Shriner and attended the Methodist Church
Al is survived by his wife of 61 years, Tinx his son David, and wife Dianna, of Hobbs his daughter, Connie Rinehart, of Hobbs 8 grandchildren, Nicholas and Gallie Goulet of Hobbs, Jeff and Jeremy Goulet of Berkley, CA, Heather and Ronny Alexander of Hobbs, Brandi Goodwin of Lubbock, Scott and Becky Lynske of Hobbs, Dave and Teisha OBrian of Lake Buchanan, TX, Cody Martin of Lake Buchanan, TX, Raelynn and Travis Keron of Olympia, WA, James and Amanda Rinehart of Denver and 7 greatgrandchildren, Emily, Bailey, Peyton, Morgan, Logan, Haley and Paul.
