Alton Ashley

Alton Carl Ashley passed from this life on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. He was born in Newnan, Georgia on February17, 1944 to Carl and Nina Cofield Ashley. Alton served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a United States Marine. He was an avid sportsman and followed the Atlanta Braves and His Alabama Crimson Tide. Alton was a Mechanic by trade and worked for his dad at CC Motors in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Alton is proceeded in death by his parents and his daughter Belinda Jane Hickingbottom. He is survived by his sons Scott Ashley and wife Terri, Shane Ashley and wife Valerie all of Texarkana Texas. Six grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Two sisters Shiela Anderson and Carlann McBroom and one brother Robert Ashley. A host of nieces and nephews and cousins who loved him dearly. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, 3321 N. Dal Paso St. Hobbs, New Mexico. Burial will be held at Prairie Haven Cemetery.
