Alta Chenault

Alta Dean (Willis) Chenault was born March 30,1939 in Stanton, Texas. She slipped into the arms of Jesus on November 26, 2021 in her home surrounded by family. Her childhood years were in Lovington, New Mexico where she lived with her family and went to school. On October 31, 1975 she married her soul mate LLoyd Chenault and they built a life in Hobbs, New Mexico. She spent many years as a pink lady at the hospital. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and getting her hair and nails done. She was devoted to her family and her beloved dog Bullet. Alta was a member at New Hope Baptist Church for over 20 years. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter Neda Burrows and husband Billy, son Billy Chenault and wife Keitha, and son James Chenault, sister Mary Brooker and husband Larry, sister-in-law Pam Willis and sister-in-law Lamoine Dyke, grandchildren Michael Allen, Dinah Tinnell, Brandi Brister, Ashley Chenault, Jason Chenault, Landon Chenault-Stephens and Brandon Chenault and twelve great grand-children.

She was preceded in death by her parents AJ and Hatti Belle Willis, husband Lloyd Chenault, son Timothy Roche, son LLoyd Wayne Chenault, sisters Wilma Porter and Neda Dickerson, brothers Frank Willis, Noah Willis, Ronnie Willis, JW Willis, and Billy Willis.
