A funeral service for Ruth Barr of Hobbs will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Burial will follow after services at Memory Garden Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday 8 a.m. 6 p.m. and Thursday 8 a.m. until service time at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements.

Barr, 81, died Sunday, February 14, 2010, at Odessa Medical Center in Odessa, Texas. She was born August 14, 1928, in Lenora, Texas. Ruth moved to Hobbs in 1975. She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in the Hobbs area. Ruth loved cats and enjoyed reading mystery novels. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Barr of Odessa, Texas, and Phillip Barr of Hobbs and one grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her brother C. D. Willingham.
