Alice Torrez

Funeral services for Alice Torrez, 70, of Hobbs, will be Monday, June 17, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Chapel of Hope officiated by Pastor Chuck Snyder. Visitation will be Sunday, June 16, 2013, from 2 7 p.m. at Chapel of Hope. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. CST at the Kermit Cemetery in Kermit, Texas.

Alice died June 13, 2013, in Lubbock, TX. She was born January 10, 1943, in Kent, TX, to Joe and Ruth Rivera. She married Mike Torrez December 29, 1990, in Las Vegas, NV. She was of the Baptist faith. Alice enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Her favorite hobbies were spending time with grandkids, sewing, doing crafts and gardening. She won numerous awards for her paintings and crafts. She loved to golf with her kids and brothers. Alice owned and operated Alices Place restaurant in Kermit and Hobbs. Her family and friends were very close to her heart.

Surviving Alice was her husband, Mitchell Mike Torrez, of Hobbs 6 sons, Ismael Izzy Ortega, Jr., and wife Raquel, of San Antonio, TX, Mike Rivera Ortega, and wife Elise, of Hurst, TX, Joel Ortega, and wife Yolie, of El Paso, TX, Roy Richardson, and wife Karen, of Kermit, TX, Scott Richardson, and wife Barbara, of Jupiter, FL, and Matthew Torrez of Phoenix, AZ 2 daughters, Vanessa Torrez, and husband Juan, of Roswell, NM, and Terri Crow, and husband Richard, of Kermit, TX 3 brothers, Tom Rivera, and wife Anita, of Pecos, TX, David Rivera of Kermit, TX, and Danny Rivera, and wife Vicki, of Houston, TX 19 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren.

Preceding her in death is the father of her children, Wayne Richardson and 6 brothers, Manuel, Joe, Jr., Gilbert, Joe Lewis Corky, Bobby and Bill.
