A funeral service for Alice Freeman of Hobbs will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2010, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 130 W. Roxana.
Pastor David Downs will officiate. Burial will follow services at Prairie Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will take place Thursday 8 a.m. 6 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. 8:45 a.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
Freeman, 69, died February 16, 2010, at her home in Hobbs. She was born January 11, 1941, in Springdale, Arkansas. She married Barney Freeman on May 25, 1959. He preceded her in death in 2002.
Alice was employed at the Hobbs NewsSun for 20 years, managed the store at Nadine and worked at Wal Mart for 12 years. She enjoyed growing vegetables in her garden. The love of her life was her family, especially her greatgrandchildren.
She was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son Kevin Freeman and wife, Wanda, of Hobbs, two sisters nine grandchildren, Amber Martin of Hobbs, Jenifer Bristow of Hobbs, Jasmine Freeman of Hobbs, Ciera Freeman of Hobbs, Dakota Freeman of Hobbs, Adam Woods of Clovis, New Mexico, Jessica Freeman of Hobbs, Kent Freeman of Lovington, and Henry Freeman of Liberal, Kansas and greatgrandchildren Rylie, Zamian, Carly, Isiah, Dylan, Bud and A.J.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband, Barney Freeman in 2002, greatgrandchild Arilyn Martin and mother and fatherinlaw.
