Albert Longoria Gonzales passed away on January 24, 2023, in Hobbs, New Mexico at the age of 67.
Albert was born on October 18, 1955, to Genaro and Celia Gonzalez in Matamoros, Mexico.
Albert began his craftsmanship in the air conditioning and heating industry at an early age. In 1986, Albert established AG Custom Sheet Metal where he worked diligently until his passing. Over that time period, the business became a leading air conditioning and heating company in the region. Albert was well known as one of the most talented sheet metal fabricators in Southeast New Mexico and West Texas.
Throughout his life, Albert was known for his giving nature. No matter family, friend, or stranger, he would give his last dollar to ensure those around him never went without. Anyone hungry would be invited into his home to share a meal no matter the hour. He will be remembered by his loved ones for his strong work ethic, selfless generosity, and devotion to family. He was proud to have served on the Habitat for Humanity Board and the City of Hobbs Utility Board.
He is preceded in death by his father Genaro Gonzalez, children Stacy and Tracy Gonzales, grandparents Roberto and Martina Gonzalez and Alberto and Guadalupe Longoria.
Albert is survived by his children Laurie Gonzales (Toby Herring), Sarah (Matt) Mendez; grandchildren Christopher Gonzales, Caleb Gonzales, Riley Mendez, and Oliver Mendez; siblings Martina (Leonard) Rodriquez, Margarita (Donnie) Jackson, Genaro (Ruth) Gonzales, Guadalupe (Shelby) Gonzales, Yolanda (Eugene) LaCour, Mario Gonzalez, Oscar Gonzalez, and Juan “Johnny” (Tammy) Gonzales and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Albert be made to Habitat for Humanity of Hobbs.
A celebration of Albert’s life will be held at a later date.
