alignjustifyAdera Bradley was born June 11, 1921, in Santo, Texas. She went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2009. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, Hobbs, New Mexico, with Dr. Dean Mathis officiating. Visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

alignjustifyShe was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Augustus Bradley, and a grandson, Thomas Joseph Redmond Ill. She and Melvin were married for 58 years. She is survived by a son, Don Bradley of McKinney, Texas; two daughters, Jane Bradley Shook, of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Alice Bradley Redmond, of Peachtree City, Georgia, and two sons-in-law, Dale Shook and Tom Redmond. She leaves behind two sisters, Joy Hendricks of Lipan, Texas, and Mamie Sides of Mineral Wells, Texas, seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Adera was a homemaker and a faithful supporter of her husband, who was a Baptist minister. She accompanied him as he served in churches in Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana and Georgia. She excelled in sewing, gardening, painting and teaching the Bible.
She was a resident at the Country Cottage in Hobbs, New Mexico. In her last years of confinement, she ministered to friends and family with her extensive sending of notes, letters and prayers. She served the other residents, when she was able, by painting their fingernails.
alignjustifyMrs. Bradley was known most of all for her unwavering faith in God. She shared her faith regularly with whomever she met. She prayed extensively for her family and for anyone in need. She will be remembered at services in Hobbs, New Mexico, and Mineral Wells, Texas.
alignjustifyShe will be buried next to her husband and parents at the Dobbs Valley Cemetery, Dobbs Valley, Texas.
