Rhonda Gail Henderson Cobb went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ in her sleep on March 31st, 2018. Rhonda was the daughter of Morris and Ruberta Henderson and the sister to Robert Morris Henderson. Her parents and brother preceded her in death. Rhonda was married to and survived by her husband, Sam D. Cobb of Hobbs, NM and two sons, Phillip Cobb of Hobbs, NM and Jarred Cobb of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Maycie Cobb of Midland, TX and a grandson, Gatlin Cobb of Albuquerque, NM, a sister-in-law, Linda Keeney Gipson and brother-in-law, Edward “Hoot” Gipson of Lake Kiowa, TX, numerous nieces and nephews and hundreds of friends.
Rhonda was born in Graham, Texas on February 26th, 1953 and grew up in Crane, Texas. Rhonda was a cheerleader, Home Coming Queen and voted Most Beautiful in her class upon graduation from Crane High School in 1971.
Rhonda attended Texas Tech University where she met Sam in 1973. Rhonda and Sam married on June 12, 1976 and moved to Hobbs. She and Sam are the owners of RMS Foods, Inc. Rhonda also served for 10 years as the Secretary to the Athletic Director for the Hobbs Municipal Schools.
Her husband, sons and grandchildren were very important to her and she loved spending time and having conversations full of laughter with all of her “Heifer” girlfriends. She loved all of her dogs, cows and horses and had a nickname for every one of them. She loved to spend time outside with her plants and especially enjoyed sharing the backyard with friends and family.
Rhonda never met a stranger, loved to laugh and everyone that had the privilege of knowing her their life was blessed because of it.
I am so saddened by the loss of my cousin Rhonda and so sorry we didn't get a chance to reconnect after all these years. Life got in my way, as you know. My fondest memory of Rhonda is sitting in her bedroom as a 6th grader watching Rhonda prepare to go cheer for the Crane Golden Cranes. I loved how high she could tease her hair and I was in awe of her CASE of aquanet hair spray. She was beautiful. She will be missed. I wish you peace Sam and family. alison

Dear Sam and family, we are so very sorry to hear of Rhonda’s sudden passing. Paul and I were just remembering our time spent with you, Rhonda, Linda, SG and Pam at the Cobb place. You and Rhonda were very gracious and hospitable to us. We often remember the memories of that weekend and loved ones who occupied the land before us. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. May The Lord bless and keep you and shine His face on you and give you peace.

Our hearts were saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend. Even though there were miles between us, Sam and Tim always kept in touch. When we lived in Hobbs shared many trips with Rhonda. One weekend to Ruidosa with girls only at Cobb cabin. Dorothy had it decorated really nice. We also went water skiing at Amistad one memorial weekend. Rhonda and I got too much sun. I have those pics they will be treasured always. Rhonda and I laughed so hard at the sun poisoned lips and foreheads. Rhonda was a down to earth yet a very social girl. Always made you feel welcome in her home and in her presence. She had a big heart and loved her family. Would do anything for her boys. She was so proud of her grandkids too. It showed by how much she was involved with them. She will be missed by her family and the many lives who she touched with her loving heart, witty honest words and wonderful beautiful personality. I can’t help but thing God will have a special place in heaven. Probably overseeing some furry animals. Dogs and Cows. All our love and prayers go out to Sam, Phil, Jarred and extended family. Prayers and love now and coming days ahead. We are here for you.
